BEING PRESENT IN LIFE
Being present and patient when nothing seems to be progressing in your life is one of the hardest forms of acceptance. Sometimes we work so hard at trying to make something that we want happen, we don’t even realize that what we want may not be what’s best for us. It could also mean that something needs time and further development to grow into being what we need. As we all know, timing is in fact everything in life.
I can’t speak for everyone, but I know I want everything like yesterday! I am a huge immediate gratification person! Ha The practice of waiting, being patient and letting things unfold naturally defies my inner control freak! Ahaha Sitting back and letting go is not a natural instinct for me. I want to work hard, create and make the magic happen in my life. I don’t want to wait and just sit around. What I’ve learned is that you can work hard, be persistent, but then you have to let go at some point and let the Universe lead you. If you don’t, it can feel like you are banging your head against a wall that’s never going to move.
Finding that peace within your soul and the calm in your mind while you are in a “holding pattern” is a true testament of inner strength. An inner strength, I feel that we are supposed to find. I feel like nothing ever happens by chance in life. There are no coincidences. So, if you find yourself feeling like nothing is moving forward, you may have to take a step back and reassess what it is your striving for. Get back in touch with yourself, reconnect with your spirit, hone your talents and confirm what it is you want from your life. I think sometimes we keep forging ahead, never stopping to realize that maybe we changed a little on the way. Maybe what we used to want has changed also? The universe has a way of showing us this when we don’t pay attention. They are called obstacles, detours, and things not working out. We are not supposed to stop striving, we are not supposed to quit, but we all do need to be still sometimes long enough to hear what our own heart beats for.
Go after everything you desire in life, but don’t be discouraged or surprised by the moments when things don’t seem to be moving forward at all. These pit stops are there for a reason. To slow you down, to give you time to assess and to show the Universe just how badly you really want it!
