SURROUND YOURSELF WITH POSITIVE PEOPLE
The last 12 months has truly been a year of change, transition and growth for me. I came to the realization that not every one of the people in my life should be part of my future. I let go of many people this year whom I felt no longer added positive energy. It’s a hard thing to do, but if you are going to live a positive life and continue to grow, you absolutely need to surround yourself with supportive, successful and positive-thinking friends.
I tend to have very high expectations of myself and my goals tend to be lofty. I figure if I shoot for the stars at least I might land close! What I learned is, that I need to be around those who have lofty goals too, those who think anything is possible, the doers, the movers, the shakers. The naysayers, haters and play-it-safers, will never provide a platform for me to truly grow and be myself. They will always try to put doubt in my mind and hold me back. Your friends don’t do this on purpose, it’s really just a projection of their own limiting belief systems.
Listen to me, listen to your gut, if you ever feel like the people in your life are limiting you from being who you are, or belittling you to make themselves look better, be strong enough to let them go. These types of friends will never take you to where you need to go. What I learned is that friends who are truly confident in them selves, will not compromise your friendship, they will be honest in their critiques and they will be the first ones to be there to support your dreams when you need them. Where you are going, you don’t need anyone who weighs you down and drains you with constant complaining, selfishness and judgments. Don’t get me wrong, we all go thru seasons and tough times in life, where we are not ourselves and need a friend. I am not referring to you. I am referring to the consistently negative people who don’t ever change. So guess what, you need to be the one to change and let them go!!! Clean slates give room for better to come into your life.
Now, as we approach Thanksgiving, I have to say I am so thankful and grateful for the true friends I now have in my life. They are no short of amazing! They are friends that are family I chose and I know they support me in whatever crazy dreams I might have! Thank you-you know who you are and I love you to the moon and back and I support you in whatever makes you happy!
